Sand Creek Chatter – 3-20-2013

Alex Timm played in the Bantam State Hockey Tournament in Sheboygan on March 9 and 10 and their team won third place.

Supporters were parents, Clayton and Kelly Timm, Maggie and Adam. Grandparents, Paul and Lou Ann Gilberts, cousin, Sam Mars, Grandparents, Jerry and Sandy Timm, Shelby, Jordan and Kylie Sader.

Ashley Keller of Hudson, visited her grandmother, Mae Sparby last weekend.

Tom and Caryl Schoen spent the week-end of March 9 and 10 in Delafield with friends and later with daughter, Tammi Benson and family and grandchildren.

Dale Paulson had a party at the home of Dale and Sue Paulson on Sunday, March 10. Dinner guests were Sue’s mother, Torchy Schaller and Sue’s sister, Cindy Schaller, Ben and Sarah Knepper and Eddie and Eric Paulson.

On March 15, Tom and Caryl Schoen left for Illinois to attend the funeral for Tom’s brother.

Glenn and Margie Anderson went out for supper at Mom’s Café in Colfax on March 15 with Cory and John Schneider, Daniel and Andrew.  Their son, Matthew is traveling with CREW (Crusade for Christ) who are in evangelism outreach students from UW-Eau Claire and UW-Stout

Daniel and Andrew went with the Middle School and Colfax High School students to Green Bay where they attended the Girls’ State Basketball playoffs. They went on Thursday and Daniel played in the pep band. They were happy to be supporters for their win the first night. Also pleased just to be “at State” at the Saturday game, even if they didn’t win.

Toby and Judy Horn along with Michael and Betsy Horn, Mitchell and Jonathan, recently returned from a one-week stay in Fort Myers, Florida.  While there, the group took in four games of the Minnesota Twins at their spring training camp.  Another highlight of their trip was a visit to the Everglades.  The group observed many alligators, the giant manatees and abundant birdlife. Sanibel Island and its beaches also provided lots of enjoyment and relaxation. Fort Myers beach was another stop for the group.  While returning to their car, the group noticed a Dodge Caravan with a Wisconsin license plate.  The dealership on the car was “Gilberts of Sand Creek”.

Friends in the Sand Creek township from as far north of Rice Lake and Siren and as far south of Eau Claire at Mondovi helped fill the Grace Community Room at the Old School on Saturday evening of March 16 for the 6 pm Spaghetti Feed and concert by the Six Strings Bluegrass group Everyone had a good time and no one wanted to leave to go home.

Kenny and Sharon Nelson returned home to Sand Creek on March 16 after a 3-month vacation in California and Arizona after spending eight of those weeks with their grandson, Daine Carr and his parents, Brad and Debbie Carr in Valley Village of California.
