Eau Claire Bit & Spur Club holding 14 horse shows this year

EAU CLAIRE —  The Eau Claire Bit and Spur Saddle Club is sponsoring 14 horse shows for 2013.

Admission is free and open to the public; parking at the show grounds is free.

The shows will have Western Saddle Club Association (WSCA) qualifying classes for the Fall Championship Horse Show.

The shows will include eight pleasure shows, four game shows, and two National Barrel Horse Association Shows.

The shows will be held at the Eau Claire Bit and Spur show grounds at 10421 West Cameron Street, Eau Claire.

Camping sites with and without electrical hook-ups are available at the show grounds. The Bit and Spur Club also has an 82-stall barn, food stand, PortaPotties and bleachers. The club has 30 pristine acres for all to enjoy.

Pleasure shows and game shows all start at 8:30 a.m., rain or shine.

Pleasure shows include halter and showmanship classes, English equitation, English pleasure, Western horsemanship and Western pleasure.

Shows will be held June 8 and 9, July 13 and 14, August 3 and 4, September 7 and 8.

Games shows include egg and spoon, pole weaving, key races, barrels, jumping Figure 8, pennant races, rescue races, and speed dashes.

Game shows are scheduled for May 11 and 12; July 21; September 28.

The National Barrel Horse Association shows will be held July 6 and 7.
