The Alpha Tau Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma recognized new teachers during Valentine’s Week. Four teachers received a surprise Valentine with a $100 Gift Card to be used for classroom supplies or their own professional development.
The names of all new teachers in four school districts were added to the drawing and the four lucky names, by district, were drawn. The honored teachers from Colfax and Elk Mound are listed below:
Elk Mound: Sarah Jones teaches English in the Elk Mound High School. Originally from Superior, she taught seventh-grade English at Superior Middle School for nine years. Jones has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Education from UW-Eau Claire and a Master of Science degree in Education-Instruction from UW-Superior. She resides in Chippewa Falls with her husband, Daniel, and two-year old son, Adam.
Colfax: Brianne Link teaches High School Special Education. This is her first teaching job. She has a bachelor’s degree in Special Education from UW-Stout. Her hometown is Barron. She resides in Colfax with her husband, Kraig, and son, Marcus, who just turned one.
Patti Burandt from Menomonie and Diana Robinson from Boyceville were also honored.
The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International is a professional honorary Society of women educators. The Society promotes professional and personal growth of its members and excellence in education.
