Glenwood City competes at Regional Division B Science Olympiad

MENOMONIE — Glenwood City students competed at the Wisconsin West Regional Science Olympiad competition at Menomonie High School on Saturday, February 23.

The team members are Nyah Anderson, Owen Anderson, Matthew Bauman, Jim Buttles, Mae Buttles and Jacob Traynor.

The team placed 11th as a team and 8th as a school. Owen Anderson and Jim Buttles received Silver medals for Rocks and Minerals, and Road Scholar. Matthew Bauman and Jim Buttles received a Bronze medal for Reach for the Stars. Nyah Anderson and Mae Buttles placed 4th in the Write It Do It Event. Jacob Traynor placed 4th in the Heredity Event. Matthew Bauman and Jacob Traynor placed 5th in Disease Detectives. Mae Buttles and Jacob Traynor finished 5th in Sounds of Music. Owen Anderson and Jim Buttles placed 5th in Meteorology and Matthew Bauman was 5th in Forestry.

The team will be going on to the State Division B Science Olympiad Tournament on March 16 at UW-Oshkosh.
