The National Honor Society of Chetek-Weyerhaeuser High School held their induction ceremony for new members on Friday afternoon, January 18 when Jamison Wendlandt and Brandon Westholm from Sand Creek were inducted. Attending the ceremony in their honor were: Janice Wendlandt, Lillian Wendlandt, Judy Gronning, Dawn Gronning, Doug and Becky Westholm and Danielle.
William and his wife, Katie, of Bakersfield, CA, were home for Christmas with his parents, Leon and Karen Jahn, joined by William’s sister, Heather of Madison who is a student at UW-Madison.
Cara Clark and daughter, Cadence and their friend, Karen returned safely to Carrollton, Texas after a Christmas visit with Butch and Sue Mares and relatives.
Lyndon and Kathy Peterson had their family home on Christmas Eve including Jon and Ann Peterson of Menomonie and Sue and Dan Smith and Mason of Sand Creek.
Dave and Sara Wattenford and Kalia of Sheboygan, visited Glenn and Margie Anderson over New Year’s weekend.
Derek’s friend, Cortney Fields of Saratoga, CA was a guest in the Westholm home from January 5 to January 19th.
Michael and Kelly Nelson recently went to Los Angeles to visit Brad and Debbie Carr and their new baby, Daine. They also had the opportunity to see Kenny and Sharon Nelson.
From there, they flew to Hawaii to attend a Conference at the Big Island and enjoyed the weather and sights and are now ready to face our Sand Creek January.
Lee and Teresa Killoren, Brody and Bryce, were the capable aunt and uncle to entertain Zoe and Noah Nelson here in Sand Creek while Zoe and Noah’s parents vacationed in Los Angeles and Hawaii.
Cindy Gilberts of Menomonie spent the weekend with her dad, Snort Gilberts.
Ray Gilberts is home after spending a week in the Bloomer Hospital.
Judy Hovre of Austin, Texas, is here visitng her parents, Ray and Ardith Gilberts. Dan Dietsche of Minneapolis was home over the weekend with Doris and Herb Tallman.
Becky Schnacky of the Twin Cities, was home over the weekend with Alden and Gert Berg and Jeff and helped Alden celebrate his Jan. 19 birthday.
Marty and Tammi Allison, Reagan and Lauren hosted a get-together at their home for Janet and Clyde Allison, Dale and Sue Paulson as the Paulsons are Marty’s godparents. Dale was unable to be along as he had the flu.
Avis Hanson of Morningside Apartments has been hostng a card get-together on Wednesday afternoons for Harlan and Lana Anderson, Rodney and Carolyn Dahl, Carol Anderson and Anita Jenson.
On Friday, January 18, Doug and Becky Westholm, Danielle and Cortney Fields of Saratoga, CA attended the National Band Association – Wisconsin Chapter’s 2013 College All Star Honors Band concert. Derek Westholm was representing the University of Wisconsin River Falls as a percussionist in the concert which was held at the Performing Arts Center at Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids, WI.
Hannah Gustum of Eau Claire and her fiancé, Tyler Mansmith of Chippewa Falls, were home with Hannah’s parents and family on Sunday to help Hannah celebrate her January 16th birthday.
