B-C grapplers drop dual meet at Cumberland

Having to forfeit several weight classes makes it difficult to win dual meets and the Bloomer-Colfax wrestlers have been finding that out all season. In a meet at Cumberland Jan. 14, B-C gave up 30 points due to five forfeits, and won just three matches as they were defeated by the Beavers 63-18.

All of B-Cs points came from pins as Brady Simonson, dropping down from 120 pounds to 113 pounds, continues to impress everyone as he won by a pin at the 2:50 mark. Likewise, Robbi Rands, wrestling at 138 put his opponent’s shoulder to the mat with just 20 seconds to go in the match and Dan Thorgerson did the same in the 152 pound class at 1:14.

Dropping their matches were Justin Wachtendonk (106 pounds). Hunter Hetke (126), Jon Thorgerson (145), Ben Klatt (160), Matt Shaw (170) and Stephen Snyder (220). The forfeits came at 120, 132, 182, 195 and 285.
