Colfax boys bounce back with pounding of Plum City

PLUM CITY — After their tough loss to Elk Mound two days earlier, the Viking boys came back quite nicely with a 55-26 Saturday matinee win over the Plum City Blue Devils Jan. 12.

Colfax used their inside and outside game to take a 19-6 lead after the first quarter as Sawyer DeMoe accounted for eight of those points on four deuces, Lane Olson scored six points on a pair of buckets sandwiched around a pair of free throws and Ethin Kiekhafer canned a three pointer.

The defense did their part  throughout the game, holding the Blue Devils to three points in the second quarter and four in the final eight minutes while Colfax bench players came up with some big points. Joe Wahl had a season high eight points, all in the second half on three baskets and two free tosses and freshman Kedar Davis commemorated his varsity debut by draining a three pointer in the final quarter.

“We did a nice job defensively and did a good job attacking them in the lane,” Colfax coach Andy Meade said. “We had some very nice contributions from our bench kids including Joe Wahl, Kedar Davis and Grant Phillips.”

The Vikings will host Spring Valley this Friday night.
