Seasons Move On

Seasons Move On
A poem by Dorothy Burton
January 2, 2013

The days are getting darker and colder
And winter has begun
The snow has been coming down
And there seems to be less of the sun.
Do you enjoy the change of seasons
And summer as it comes and goes
Then winter with its stormy winds
And often times it snows
May you find something you like to do
In the face of all of this
Soon the season will march away
May there be nothing important you will miss

Then spring comes in all its glory
And the newness of life returns
The grass comes out and the leaves come on
And from all of this we learn
This has nothing to do with us
God sends it all, in its time
He will take care of us and guide
As we trust and pray, He will do just fine

We find there’s tests and trials
And life isn’t smooth as we say
But God has promises to shield us
Through Jesus, He’s the way
He says Come unto me I will help you
Bring your burdens and your cares
Come drink at the living fountain
And you and I will share
I will share the glories of heaven
And a new life divine
And you will be glad you met me
Especially at the end of time

We are more than conquerors through Christ who loved us and gave himself for us. Romans 8:37.

And the Spirit and the bride say, Come, and let him that heareth say, Come, and let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. Revelation 22:17.
