Sand Creek Chatter – 1-9-2013
Paul and Lou Ann Gilberts entertained their family members on Sunday, Dec. 23 for Christmas including: Kelly and Clayton Timm, Alex, Maggie and Adam, Jimmy and Krista Mars, Sam and Taylor and Scott and Amy Gilberts.
On Christmas Eve, some family members and friends gathered at the Paul Gilberts home after church.
Paul and Lou Ann Gilberts spent Christmas Day at Knapp Haven where they had dinner with Lou Ann’s Aunt Evelyn McCullum and two daughters, Judi McCullum from Grafton, WI and Aroloa Anderson from Stone Lake. That evening, they were invited to the home of John and Marilyn Mars and their family.
Avis Hanson had all of her children and grandchildren at Morningside Lounge on Dec. 24 to celebrate Christmas. Then following the party, Avis went home with her daughter, Susan and Rich Carlson to stay overnight and attend Christrmas Day church services at Drywood Lutheran church.
Tom and Judy Vaughn hosted their family on Christmas Eve including: Shelly and David Rae and family, Mike and Diane Vaughn and family, Kim Weiss and family.
Lillian Wendlandt’s daughter, Marian Brasher picked up Lillian on the Saturday before Christmas and brought her to the Brasher home in Eau Claire for over the Christmas weekend. They in turn traveled to Minneapolis to be with the Brasher’s daughter, Michelle and family.
Martin Tandberg enjoyed Christmas Eve overnight through Christmas Day with his daughter, Annie Holecek and children, Cedric and Francesca.
The families of Jean Hanson gathered at the home of Jolene and Scott Frey in Eau Claire for supper on Christmas Eve including: the Kurt Hanson family, the Karl Hanson family and the Brad Hanson family.
Jerry and Sandy Timm entertained Sandy’s family, the Ewerts on December 20th. Joining them were her father, Arlyn from Chippewa Falls, brother Jeff and wife, Sally of Rockford, IL, brother Brad and wife, Peggy of Eau Claire and uncle Rod and wife, Kay of DePere, WI.
Longer term guests began arriving later that week. Jerry’s mother Phyllis, age 95, came from Wautoma for a six day stay. Son Eric and partner Tim, arrived from Los Angeles, CA for five days. Daughter, Mary Alice Tsosie and granddaughter, Allissa were here from Albuquerque, NM for four days and locals daughter, Shelby Fader, husband Phillip and children Kylie and Jordan of Rice Lake were in and out several days. Sand Creek residents, were Clayton and Kelly Timm, Alex, Maggie and Adam joined everyone. On Christmas Day, there were 27 guests as Jerry’s brother, Dlck and wife, Jan of Appleton brought along Jan’s sisters Alice and Ann of Phoenix, AZ. Granddaughter Allison of Keshena came for an overnight stay. Three dogs joined the party as well! The house is fairly quiet now as they finish leftover food.
George and Delores Vlcek entertained their children and families on Christmas Eve Day who were: Harold and Diane Vlcek and Scott, Brian and Debbie Vlocek Moriah, Briana, Isaiah and Elijah, Bill and Karen Vlcek, Noah, Georgia and Joey, Nathan and Amy Vlcek, Whitney and Hunter.
Jim and Jessica Hanson, along with Nate, Josh, Camila, Angie and Roci traveled to Minneapolis the weekend of December 15th for a Christmas baking day at Jessica’s sister, Rachel’s new home. They baked a lot of traditional Christmas cookies.
On Friday, December 21st, the Hanson crew headed back to Minneapolis to meet Jessica’s new niece, Elise Serafina, born to Jessica’s sister, Rachel Lytle that day. Mom and baby are doing well.
Norman and Merline Rufledt went to be with Norm’s family on Christmas Eve. Then on Christmas Day, Jolene and Rick Wester came to be with Norm and Merline in Sand Creek.
Lee and Teresa Killoren, Brody and Bryce spent Christmas Eve with Lee’s mother, Elizabeth Brenden in Eau Claire.
Dale and Sue Paulson hosted the Paulson Christmas at their home on Dec. 30th for noon dinner with the following guests: Dan and Debbie Paulson and family, Roger Paulson, With Dale and Sue:s family they numbered 19.
The Stratton family who represent Delores’ side of the family gathered at the home of George and Delores Vlcek on New Year’s Day for dinner. at noon. Present were Bill Johnson, Brad Johnson and wife, Peg, Kate and Bryn, Edith Olson and daughter, Julie of Cottage Grove, Nathan and Amy Vlcek and Hunter, Gordon and Joyce Stratton, Rebecca and Christopher, Amanda and a friend, Deb and Nate Epp.
The families of Dean Swanson, Dale Paulson, Lynn Gilberts and Anita Jenson all got together for their Annual Christmas “Get –together” at the home of Dean Swanson along with their children and grandchildren. on the evening of January 5th.
Phil and Connie Cruse had their family and the Steve and Brenda Gustum family and Carol Gustum for the Christmas Eve meal that included: Liz Cruse and friend, Jamie, Christopher Cruse and friend, Heather, Steve and Brenda, Tony and Erika Wold and three girls, Leanna and husband, Ferandez, Brandon and Amy Gustum.
Katie and Matt Lois, Jenna and Adam of Oconomoc got together for a family Christmas with Jim and Jessica Hanson, Nathan, Joshua, Camila, Angie and Roci while Bob and Mary Hanson were here from Mesa, AZ.
