The Dunn County Economic Development Corporation (DCEDC) is pleased to announce that a nationwide search for a full-time executive director has resulted in the hiring of Eric S. Turner. Mr. Turner will begin serving as the DCEDC Executive Director beginning on January 2nd, 2013.
Eric has direct and relevant experience in community and economic development as an employee of the City of Plainview, TX for the past seven years. Mr. Turner also brings relevant business experience to the position as a former co-owner and President of a Wisconsin-based flooring company.
“We are very pleased with the results of the search and excited to welcome Eric to the position. Throughout the interview process Eric demonstrated the attributes needed to build on the solid foundation DCEDC has developed as a result of our partnership with UW-Stout and the leadership Chris Smith has provided over the past few years,” said James Hanke, board president.
Christopher Smith, director of Extension and Partnership Services at the University of Wisconsin-Stout, has been serving as the executive director of DCEDC on a part-time basis through a partnership with UW-Stout. As the contract between DCEDC and UW-Stout draws to an end, the EDC is making the move to a full-time executive director by hiring Eric Turner.
The Dunn County Economic Development Corporation promotes economic growth and stability in Dunn County by encouraging entrepreneurship, industry attraction, expansion and retention; and matching individuals and companies with funding sources and incentive programs that will meet their needs.
