Sand Creek Chatter – 12-19-12

George and Delores Vlcek, Nathan and Amy Vlcek and Hunter attended the baptism of Joey Vlcek held at Jacob’s Well church in Eau Claire on the evening of Dec. 8. Joining them were Brian’s family and Harold Vlcek.  Other grandparents present were Harlan and Phyllis Reinders. Following the baptism, they all enjoyed supper and fellowship together at the home of Bill and Karen  Vlcek’s home  along with Noah and Georgia.

The Sand Creek Fire Dept. held their annual sleigh-ride with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 8 with Tami and Eric Suvada driving their horses.  Santa was present from 11:30 to 1:30 pm.  The Security Bank provided the cookies.  From there they went up to the School for Reindeer Try-outs and little games plus a light lunch and even decorating cookies to take home or eat.

Janice Wendlandt, Lillian Wendlandt, Judy Gronning and Jean Hanson attended a dance recital in which Jamison Wendlandt participated in Rice Lake on Sunday afternoon, Dec. 9

Sisters including Bonnie Peterson, Floy Ann Loftus, Kathy Peterson, and Becky Riewestahl all gathered at the Daily Brew in Bloomer to celebrate the birthday of their sister, Pat McClure  home from Fairbanks, Alaska on Monday, December 10.  Following the luncheon, the ladies visited Verna Knowlton at The Maplewood .

Congratulations is extended to Kenny and Sharon Nelson on their newest grandson, Daine  Alexander Carr, born to their daughter, Debbie and husband, Brad Carr in Valley Village, CA on Sunday, December 10.

Sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Frances Campbell whose visitation was conducted at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer on Dec. 13 and the funeral service was held at Our Saviour’s Lutheran church in Chippewa Falls on Dec. 14.

Dan Toycen was a son-in-law of Frances. All of Dan’s siblings were present including Dave’s wife, Diane Toycen of Toronto, Canada, Gail Weyerhaeuser of Gig Harbor, WA., Sue and Jerry Favero and Dan’s mom, Elaine Toycen all of Mesa, AZ  Close neighbors and friends, Dick and Elaine Clemmens as well as Swanhild Rasmussen also attended.

Independent Bible church of Sand Creek served desserts at the December birthday party at the Colfax Nursing Home on Dec. 14 with the Gustum family providing a nice musical program.  Swanee enjoyed a nice visit with Eda Keltner and Jerry Patrow during coffee-time. They are residents at the Colfax Nursing Home.

When Dick and Elaine Clemmens were in Bloomer, they took Swanhild Ramussen on a tour of Park Lights Display.  Such a magnificent lighting show.  They also brought Swanee up to their own home where they have all their Christmas lights on each evening now preceding Christmas. Check them out just one mile north of Sand Creek off of Highway M.  You’ll enjoy the lights on the Toycen farm, too.

Sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Harold A. Anderson whose funeral sevice was held at St. Boniface Catholic church in Chetek on Friday, Dec. 14.

Judy Gronning and Jean Hanson attended the Harvestime Sunday School Christmas program and church services in Eau Claire on Dec. 16.  Participating in the program were Karl and Hannah Hanson’s children, Madi, Lexi and Joshua and also Brayden Hanson, the son of Brad and Tricia Hanson.

Paul and Lou Ann Gilberts delivered a beautiful tray of shiny red apples and oranges to the residents at Morningside Apts. on Dec. 15.

The Michael Nelson family on the farm next to Morningside Apts. wished all the residents at Morningside Apts. a Merry Christmas with many cans of different kinds of vegetables and placed them under the Christmas tree in the Lounge for all to choose and enjoy on Dec. 16.

Avis Hanson enjoyed coffee guests several days this week:  Lillian Hanson visited Avis on Thursday and Brenda Espeseth had coffee with Avis that day, too.

Ann Wicken brought a pizza for Avis and Ann to enjoy for a little Christmas party on Friday and Avis’ daughter, Susan Carlson came for a visit on Saturday.
