Action starting the process of amending a village ordinance to allow Jeff Prince to operate a windshield repair business out of his garage was taken by the Colfax village board at their meeting Dec. 9.
A son, Logan Thomas Carstens, was born Nov. 29 at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire to Scott and Angela Carstens, Colfax.
Although Andrew Dietsche hit a three pointer for Colfax at the buzzer to send the game into overtime, the Vikings lost to Mondovi 51-45.

A possible ordinance restricting or prohibiting nude dancing within the Village of Colfax was discussed at the board meeting after a number of complaints to board members came about concerning two taverns that brought in nude dancers or strip tease acts recently.
James and Patricia (Seaton) Dierich of Elk Mound are the parents of a girl, Shannon Courtney Dierich born Dec. 3 at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire.
Colfax graduate Ian M. Bohnen, Air Force Sergeant, has arrived for duty with the seventh weather wing, Keesler Air Force Base, Miss.

Dr. Robert Hathaway opened his veterinary practice Dec. 19 in the old Fashion Boutique building on Main Street in Colfax.
Both the Colfax and Elk Mound Pom Pon squads received honorable mention in Class AA competition held Dec. 10 at UW-Stout.
The Colfax boys overcame a poor shooting night but defeated St. Croix Central 56-49 as Jay Miller scored 18 points for the Vikings.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Roetter have announced the birth of a son, David Donald, Dec. 12.

Colfax pulled out a narrow 60-59 victory over Glenwood City to remain undefeated in the Middle Border Conference at 5-0. Bob Christianson led the Vikings with 17 points in the win.
Colfax graduate and former teacher in the Colfax district Dean Wiseman has taken the position of superintendent of the Deerfield Community Schools, Deerfield, Wis.
Joyce A. Myers and Jim N. Gunderson were married Dec. 15 at Colfax Lutheran Church.

Linda Lou DeMoe, 13 month old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clovin DeMoe, passed away Dec. 21 at the home of her grandmother Mrs. H. I. Running.
Henry H. Larson was painfully injured last week when he fell from his pet white horse. On his way to town, the horse slipped on an icy spot and Mr. Larson was thrown, hitting his head on the ice, leaving a nasty cut.

At the Methodist Episcopal Church in the village Dec. 19, occurred the marriage of Mr. Albert T. Thompson to Miss Lulu M. Yokes.
Anton Bronken and Ole Longberg returned Monday from their labors in St. Paul for a visit with relatives and friends during the holiday season.
Miss Margaret Bain, First Primary Teacher in the High school, left Saturday morning for her home in Mankato, Minn to spend the Holiday vacation.
