Colfax wrestlers ready to roll

A new head coach greeted the Bloomer-Colfax co-op wrestling team this year as Jim Poirier took over the top job from Clete Bohl. There are 12 seniors, three juniors, seven sophomores and nine freshmen competing for spots on a team that finished with a 5-11 record last year (4-4 in the Heart O’ North Conference).

Competing from Colfax this season are sophomores David Blanchard, Matt Shaw and Robert Rands while Jon Hayton is injured and will miss the season but is part of the team. Freshmen are Brady Simonson, Preston Klukas, Tucker Hovde and Stephen Snyder.

The team will begin competition Dec. 6 against Superior at home in Bloomer then will wrestle at the Eau Claire North Invitational Dec. 8.
