Colfax students win Fire Safety poster awards

COLFAX — Students in grades kindergarten through sixth grade at Colfax Elementary School had a chance to win money prizes by designing Fire Safety posters.

The posters were judged by members of the local fire department (names of contestants were not on them), and the top three at each grade level earned prizes, including $15 for first place, $10 for second place and $5 for third place. First place winners of each grade level will also have their poster sent on to the state level of competition with a chance to win $50.

Grade level winners include, (all in 1-2-3 order): Kindergarten-Hayden Dery, Conner Berthiaume, Gracie Burgraff. Grade 1- Kaydyn Nielson, Sara Edwards, Nick Strand. Grade 2- Nicolaus Jenson, Emilee Bauer, Caren Cuaquehua. Grade 3-Kayden Benson, Lewis Brooker, Alana Smith. Grade 4-Kendra Dierich, Aliya Loofboro, Max Knudson. Grade 5-Jayna Bowe, Kali Risler, Kyra Benson. Grade 6-Emma Hurlburt, Abby Klueckmann, Hailey Prince.
