Glenwood City Shell Arts Center Middle School Honors Band selections

The Shell Lake Arts Center sponsored a Middle School Honors Band festival on November 8th, 2012.  This festival included students from throughout Western and Northern Wisconsin.  Selected from the Glenwood City Middle School Band this year were:  Kaylie Scalze (clarinet), Taylor Drinkman (clarinet), Taylor Mortel (trombone), Nic Jensen (French horn), Colton Peskar (percussion), Spencer Oehlke (trumpet), Matthew Bauman (trumpet), and Tressa Peskar (flute).  The students worked with the guest conductors throughout the day and presented a concert at 6:00pm that evening at the Arts Center.

The Shell Lake Arts Center has been providing the best in education and learning environment for students for over 35 years. Some of our programs are the longest-running programs of their kind in the United States. The location in beautiful northwestern Wisconsin is inspiring and revitalizing.

The Arts Center provides a positive learning environment in a safe and secure location. In addition, the faculty and staff are dedicated to providing the best possible environment for students to develop their talents. The teacher-student ratio is low, and the faculty is nationally respected. In spite of these advantages, the tuition prices are very competitive.

The Shell Lake Arts Center opened in 1968 as the “Indianhead Arts & Education Center.” It was endorsed and supported by the University of Wisconsin system and worked in cooperation with the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education through summer 2004. Now known by its current name, the Center operates as an independent non-profit organization run by a Board of Directors and staff. Plans are being made to expand programs even more as we move into the future.
