Former Colfax student injured in Hwy. 93 accident

EAU CLAIRE — A 17-year-old former Colfax High School student was severely injured and another 19-year-old was killed in a one-car accident November 4 on state Highway 93 in Eau Claire County.

Cody Bowman attended his junior year and part of his senior year at Colfax High School before returning to Eleva not long before the November 4 accident.

Kristian Kittelson, 19, of Strum, was killed in the one-car accident.

According to news reports, emergency personnel were called to the scene of a one-car accident on Highway 93 about 2 a.m. on November 4 in the Town of Pleasant Valley.

A 1999 Chevrolet Monte Carlo was involved in the crash.

Kittelson died at the scene, and Bowman was transported to an area hospital.

Subsequent news reports from several days later indicated that investigators were still trying to determine who was driving the car when it crashed.

The Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Department reported that both teenagers were thrown from the car after it went out of control on a curve and rolled over.
