Colfax Health and Rehab – 11-14-2012

We are in the second week of November and planning for the holiday events to come. Last week we announced the “Love Lights Program” on December 5th. The information is also on our site colfaxhealthandrehab.com. We would like to thank you for participating in “Love Light” in the past and hope for your continued support. We are blessed to have support from so many people in this community.

On Sundays Leona Ubbelohde often visits with old friends and makes new ones as well. Her encouraging words and smiles cheer everyone.

On Monday afternoon Sue Hill comes to help with any activity we have planned and also spends one to one time with many residents. She is one of the busiest people I know and still takes time to come and help.

On Tuesday Veda Kiekhoefer volunteers to help with bingo and she also takes people for walks and is missed when she is unable to come. We had a good turnout for Happy Hour.

On Wednesday morning Linnea Thompson comes to help with the church service. Nine of the Ministers in the area lead the Church Service. Of course they all don’t come at once. Pastor Les Walck makes a six month schedule for the Ministers. We also have Mass once a month with the priest from St. Joseph Parish.

Loretta Logslett has Rosary every Friday morning. Wednesday afternoon Taek Krueger from Menomonie comes to do her magic. She does hand and feet massages and also nail care, as well as visiting with many residents. Wednesday evening River Boat Randy entertained everyone with two musical programs, one on Minneblom and one in the North Dining Room.

On Thursday morning residents enjoyed their ball game. In the afternoon Rich Schroeder entertained us with a beautiful music program. Rich Schroeder will be here again Thursday afternoon on December 27th.

On Friday morning Linnea Thompson and Veda came to help with the Gospel Sing. Glen Edberg and Julie McNaughton led the Gospel sing. Delores Huber is our volunteer pianist on Wednesday morning for church and Friday morning for Gospel Sing. She has been our volunteer pianist for years and does a great job. On Friday afternoon we played Dime Bingo. Veda helped residents all day long. We would like to invite anyone interested in volunteering for a couple hours a week to call and join our family of volunteers. Just a reminder our “Holiday Soup and Shop” is this coming Friday, November 16th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. We will be serving Homemade Chicken Soup and Chili. There will be several vendors for your shopping enjoyment. That’s about it for this week here in the land of Colfax where we are watching our new faculty being built as the days go by. It doesn’t get any better than this.
