COLFAX — A 29-year-old Wheeler man lost control and rolled his vehicle in the Village of Colfax shortly after 4:30 p.m. Sunday, November 4.
Feron Marko was alone in the vehicle at the time of the accident, said Colfax Police Chief Pete Gehring.
Marko rolled his vehicle near the intersection of state Highway 170 and state Highway 40 near what is known locally as “the triangle.”
According to the accident report, the Colfax Police Department received a call about the accident at 4:42 p.m. Investigators observed a long set of skid marks on the Highway 170 bridge over the Red Cedar River, Chief Gehring said.
The accident continues under investigation, and citations are pending, he said.
The Colfax Rescue Squad responded to the scene, but Marko initially refused medical care, and Chief Gehring said he did not know if the ambulance transported Marko.
The Dunn County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene to assist the Colfax officer who was on duty, Chief Gehring said.
