Sand Creek Chatter – 11-7-2012

Sandy Anderson drove to Champaign, IL on Oct. 26, to see her son and his wife, Britney, From there they drove together to St. Louis. They rode up to the top of the Arch, toured the Budweiser Brewery and an Art Museum Sandy stopped in Freeport on the way home to have lunch with Sue Marten, an old roommate from Chicago.

On Friday, Oct. 26, Doug and Becky Westholm, along with Derek, Brandon, Benjamin and Danielle traveled to Albert City, Iowa to join in the celebration of Doug’s parents, Jim and Marilyn Westholm’s 50th Wedding Anniversary. Also there to share in the very special were Doug’s brother Dan and Jill Westholm and family of West Des Moines, IA The entire family enjoyed dinner together on Saturday, Oct. 27 which was the actual anniversary date. On Sunday, Derek and Brandon added special music to the church service and a dinner was held in honor of the Westholm’s for the church congregation, family and friends

Sue Favero recently returned from a 7-day Medical Mission trip to Antigua, Guatemala. The team completed 68 surgeries. Jerry Favero deployed as a member of American Red Cross on Saturday. He flew into New York, picked up a rental car and reported to New Brunswick, New Jersey.

Sean Rae, the grandson of Tom and Judy Vaughn and student at New Auburn High School participated in the Football Tournament at Schofield, WI on Sat. Nov. 3 Several other schools took part as well and New Auburn won. Sean made the first touchdown and several extra points.

Cindy Gilberts of Menomonie visited her dad, Snort Gilberts on Sunday, Nov. 4.

Tim and Dawn Knutson and Mary Knutson went over to New Richmond on Sat. and watched Claire play basketball.

Isaac and Luke Anderson called on Grandpa Harlan and Grandma Lana wearing their Star Wars costumes for Trick or Treating on Oct. 31.

Lauren Allison and friend, Celie enjoyed the focus of baby kittens at the home of Clyde and Janet Allison last Sat.

Michael Lindau of Medford and Dan Dietsche of Bloomington, were busy bow-hunting on the Tallman farm last Saturday.

The family of Derek Robinson enjoyed celebrating the wedding of their daughter, Heather at the New Hope Lutheran church on Oct. 6 at the New Hope Lutheran church on Oct. 6 with Pastor Barb Koch officiating.

Elaine Toycen was an overnight guest of Dan and Mary Lynn Toycen in Chippewa Falls on Nov. 2.

A Quilt Shop will be opening in Sand Creek in Lyle Etlicher’s old building on Nov. 15 called “Heart Blossom This will be run by Bonnie Peterson and Karen Smith.

Bob and Cathy Lefevre hosted Larry and Carol Finseth of Mondovi for supper on Sat. evening preceding the Blue Grass Jam at the Old School.

Carol Anderson and Lana Anderson attended the Craft and Bake Sale at the Pine Creek church Women’s Sale at the Ridgeland Community Center on Oct. 27.

The Bluegrass Jammers provided a full evening of music in the Community Room of the Old School on Sat. evening, Nov. 3 We may not have all the correct names of those who participated, but here goes. Most of the musicians played more then one instrument.

Randy Marty of Chetek played banjo and mandolin, Walter Loofboro of New Auburn had several instruments, Mike and Jayne Otterson of Colfax played guitar and big bass, Nate Elmer was a fine violinist from Stanley, Gene Koch entertained us with his mandolin, think he was from Cumberland, Kathy Krug on violin and mandolin came from Cameron, Bill Kroepil played mandolin and banjo and he was from Gilman, Larry Finseth drove all the way from Mondovi to play guitar, Chris and Barbara Landstrom of Ridgeland with Chris on banjo and Barbara on big bass. Phil and Debbie Monson are from Hillsdale and Phil plays guitar and Debbie plays big bass.
