COLFAX — Scott Gunnufson of Colfax has been appointed to the Colfax Village Board.
Gary Stene, village president, introduced Gunnufson’s letter of interest at the Colfax Village Board’s September 24 meeting.
According to the letter, which was marked as having been received in the administrator clerk-treasurer’s office September 10, “I have an understanding that there may be an opening chair position on the village board. I would like to request nomination of myself to occupy the seat as a fill-in until the upcoming election period. With this responsibility, I accept all levels of dedication and any expectations that may be required of the occupant in this position. If there is any further information needed to finalize this decision per the village board, I would be more than (willing to) fulfill the request via email or in-person.”
The Colfax Village Board approved Gunnufson’s appointment on a vote of five in favor and one vote abstained.
Stene and village trustees Mark Halpin, Chris Olson, Beverly Schauer and Richard Johnson voted in favor of the appointment. Village Trustee Susan Olson abstained from voting.
Gunnufson was not present at the meeting, but Jackie Ponto, administrator clerk-treasurer, said she would contact Gunnufson about the village board’s next regular meeting on October 8.
