SCHOOL BUS DRIVERS FROM THE COLFAX, ELK MOUND AND MENOMONIE SCHOOL DISTRICTS prepared for the upcoming year by participating in a “Love and Logic” training session presented by Paul Gasser.
Gasser is a Marriage and Family therapist in the Tomah area. Drivers were given different scenarios and had to brainstorm ideas on how to handle potential issues on the bus relating to bullying, building relationships with children and parents and keeping students safe when traveling to and from school. According to Colfax administrators Bill Yingst and Trevor Hovde, the training was well received by the drivers and it gave them some strategies on how to deal with situations that may arise on the bus.
