Colfax girl will audition in Los Angeles

COLFAX – Brooklynn Bobbie Jo Dresel, a sixth grade student from Colfax, has been invited to audition and perform at the International Presentation of Performers (iPop!) to be held at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles, CA, Jan. 3-6, 2013.

Brooklynn auditioned for the “I Got Talent” talent show in Eau Claire this past summer and received a call back, allowing her to perform in their Regional Showcase. She spent three full weekends learning acting, modeling and singing routines and then performed them in from of several agents. This led to the invitation from iPop!.

“They liked my look and how I presented myself,” Brooklyn said. “I am very serious about creating a career in acting and singing. I have not always had the confidence to pursue my goals but I have always loved to entertain people.”

Brooklynn was born with a bi-lateral cleft lip and has been self-conscious about it as she grew up. She tried playing a few different sports but just didn’t connect with any of them and decided to take acting lessons as well as piano and singing lessons the past few years in hopes of earning an opportunity like this.

“I am very serious about creating a career in acting and singing,” Brooklynn said “I realize now that not only can I entertain people with my talents, but I can also be a role model to others who may not always feel like they can go for their dreams. I know now that I can show people that no matter how you look, you can do anything! One of my biggest dreams is to be on TV and to go to L.A., but I need to raise $5,000 for expenses to go for the audition. We plan on doing some fund raising but we don’t have a lot of time to raise money.”

According to a press release from Tabitha Sievers, iPop! Director, Brooklynn is an inspiring talented actor/singer who has been working to develop and advance her skills. The iPop! Convention offers a unique experience to aspiring talent. Attendance at this prestigious event is an incredible opportunity where Brooklynn will have the opportunity to show her talent to judging panels consisting of today’s top agents, managers, casting directors, industry professionals and producers from every major market who come to scout for and discover fresh faces and new talent. In addition, educational workshops and seminars presented by industry experts afford performers and parents the chance to learn about the realities and success opportunities of the business. Those who are selected at auditions will perform in a professional showcase at iPOP!’s “Celebration of Success” awards night, where top international agents will be seeking their next new star.
