LOWELL F. “HAWK” HAKANSON

Lowell F. “Hawk” Hakanson, age 81 of Boyceville, WI died Tuesday July 18, 2017 at the Neighbors of Dunn County in Menomonie, WI.

Lowell was born January 9, 1936 in Boyceville, WI to Edward and Bertha (Dalbo) Hakanson. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Luthean Church in Boyceville, WI. He also graduated  from Boyceville High School.  Lowell married Betty Ann Jurkovic on June 23, 1957 and they recently celebrated their 60th anniversary.

Lowell is preceded in death by his parents, in-laws Samuel and Julia Jurkovic, brother Robert Edward Hakanson, sister Joan Weingarten, brother & sister-in-law Paul Richard Jurkovic and Kathy Jurkovic as well as numerous aunts, uncles and other relatives.

Lowell is survived by his wife Betty of Menomonie, WI; four children: Julie (Daniel) Behling, Thomas (Susan) Hakanson, Jennifer (Ryan) Marlett and Robert (Tammy) Hakanson; Grandchildren: Evangeline, Samantha & Patrick Behling, Brandon & Dylan Hakanson, Kurtis Marlett (Fianceé Tanna Diedrich), Shyanne and Kyle Marlett, Dante Marlett (Fianceé Falyn McCraken) Adam (Rachel) Hakanson, Brooke (Scott) O’Tool and Brittanni (Landon) Hefty; great-grandchildren Zoey Rae Marlett, Adalyn Hakanson and Harper Hefty; brothers-in-law Dave Weingarten, Daniel Jurkovic and Samuel (Joan) Jurkovic; his best friend Tuffy. He is also survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church  of Boyceville, WI with Reverend Curtis Brooks officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to services. Local arrangements by the Anderson Funeral Home in Glenwood City, WI.
