IRMA F. THORSON

Irma F. Thorson, age 90, of Boyceville, WI passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at her home with hospice.

Irma was born July 4, 1926 in the Township of Springfield, WI to John and Blanche (Brahn) Gast. 

She worked for the Boyceville Schools for the past 25 years as a crossing guard. 

She volunteered her service to the American Legion Post 314 and in 2000 she was selected as Boyceville’s Pickle Festival queen.

Irma is preceded in death by her parents; husbands Leon Windsor and Francis Thorson; brothers Donald, Fremont, David, Eugene and sisters Vera Willert and Ruby Kline.

Irma is survived by sons Larry (Virginia) Thorson of Menomonie, WI and Lynn Windsor of Amery, WI; and grandchildren Jennifer, Jacob, Lucas and Sarah; Five great-grandchildren; and sisters Florence Norrbom, Helen Carol (Stephen) Smith and Blanche (Carl) White. She is further survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Monday, June 5, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyceville, WI with Reverend Pastor Bradley Peterson officiated. Burial was in the Mound Cemetery Downing, WI. Anderson Funeral Home in Glenwood City served the family.
