One killed in I-94 crash near Menomonie

On Monday, March 13, 2017, at approximately 7:46 AM, a westbound Ford Ranger on I-94 lost control on the roadway near milepost 51. The Ranger crossed the median into the path of an eastbound semi unit.

The semi was unable to avoid the collision and struck the Ranger on the driver’s side. Both units came to rest in the median. The driver of the Ranger, a 29-year-old Andrew P. Stearns from Eau Claire, was fatally injured. The driver of the semi unit, a 65-year-old male Elmer G. Jesok of St. Paul, was transported to Luther hospital and treated non-life threatening injuries.  The crash remains under investigation.
