JOY M. MCNAMARA

Joy M. McNamara, 68, resident of Detroit Lakes, MN died Tuesday, January 24, 2017 surrounded by her family and under care of Hospice of the Red River Valley following a valiant battle with cancer. A Celebration of Joy’s life will be held at a later date.

Joy was born July 7, 1948 to Michael and Isabella (Spaeth) McNamara in Amery, WI. She attended school in Glenwood City, WI. Joy was a business woman, where she owned and operated County 17 Bar and Supper Club for over 25 years.

Joy is survived by her two children: Jeff (Jill) Jaeger of Audubon, MN and Jodi (John) DeFeyter of Roseville, MN. In addition she is survived by six grandchildren: Molly, Marcus, Mari, Renee, Jay and Reid, along with one brother: Larry (Debbie) McNamara of Glenwood City, WI and two sisters: Darlene Livingston of New York City, NY and Renita Best of Amery, WI, as well as nieces, nephews, family and friends.
