BERNARD “BUNNY” TEIGEN

Bernard “Bunny” Teigen of Glenwood City, WI, passed away on January 3, 2017, at United Hospital in St. Paul, MN. He had also recently received medical care at Western Wisconsin Health Medical Center in Baldwin, WI.

Bernard Rodney Teigen was born on May 24, 1946, to Ingvald and Olga Teigen of Glenwood City. He was the sixth of nine children. Bernard attended Glenwood City Public Schools and was a graduate of Glenwood City High School, Class of 1964. He also attended and was a graduate of Milwaukee Vocational Tech School in 1965.

Bunny was employed in factory and warehouse operations at Plastics, Inc., and Newell Company in St. Paul for many years. During this time, he was a resident of St. Paul, often visiting family and friends in the Glenwood City area.

Upon taking early retirement in 2004, he moved back to Glenwood City. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Green Bay Packers football team.

Bunny never married but loved to be with family and friends.

Bunny was preceded in death by his parents, Ingvald and Olga Teigen, and two brothers, Leland and Maynard Teigen. He is survived by two brothers, Donald Teigen of Edina, MN, and Raymond Teigen of Glenwood City, WI, and four sisters and their spouses, Ilene (Leon) Hawkins of Hammond, WI, Imogene (Merle) Spinks of Hudson, WI, Marlene (Randall) Weiss of Hudson, WI, Geraldine (Ken) Heifort of Stillwater, MN, and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. 

Visitation was held Sunday, January 8, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home. Funeral services were held 11 a.m. on Monday, January 9, with visitation starting at 10 a.m., at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Glenwood City, WI. Rev. Keith Anderson officiated. Bill Wold was the vocalist. Family members offered some remembrances of Bunny.

Burial was in the family plot in the Glenwood City Cemetery.
