BERNARD W. SACHSENMAIER

Bernard W. Sachsenmaier, age 91 of Hammond, WI died Monday, December 5, 2016 at the American Heritage Care Center in Hammond, WI.

Bernard was born May 14, 1925 in Menomonie, WI to Robert and Agnes Sachsenmaier. After high school he served in the US Navy upon his return he earned a B.S. Degree.

Bernard married Helen Dyer and they had 6 children. Ben farmed most of his life before retiring and moving to Woodville, WI. He worked as a painter until truly retiring and moving into the Norseman Manor in Woodville from 2002 until 2015.

Ben is preceded in death by his parents, a brother and sister, son Bobby and daughter Karen Nelson.

Ben is survived by the children’s mother Helen, four children, Susan Sachsenmaier of Montana, Judy (Joe) Simon of New Richmond, WI; Steve (Robin) Sachsenmaier of Menomonie, WI and Melanie (Tim) McNamara of Glenwood City, WI; 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Glenwood City with Fr. John Long officiating. Interment of cremains will be St. Bridget’s Catholic Cemetery in the Township of Springfield, WI at a later date. Friends were able to call at the funeral home one hour prior to services Saturday.
