DON A. SHACKLETON

Don Andrew Shackleton, age 73, of Wheeler, WI passed away Monday, November 21, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Health System – Eau Claire.

He was born March 1, 1943 in the Town of Holcombe, Chippewa Co. WI to Milo and Genevieve (Bliven) Shackleton. He grew up in the Holcombe area moving to Knapp, WI in 1962.

Don raised a son Devon with his wife Jackie. He worked in construction and drove truck for many years.

He later married Mary Lou (Jackson) Schlough on Nov. 16, 2013.

Don loved to hunt and especially loved his trips out west Elk hunting. He enjoyed watching stock car racing at Red Cedar Speedway and he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Don is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; brothers and sisters, Viola Hanson of Menomonie, Jane (George) Wolf of Janesville, Dora (Tom White) Black of Cornell, Raymond (Amelia) Shackleton of New Auburn, Richard (Lois) Shackleton of Menomonie, Stan (Pam) Shackleton of Menomonie, Dan (Wendy) Shackleton of Dallas, WI; also four step-children, David (Denise) Schlough, Richard (Renee) Schlough, Garold (LuAnn) Schlough, Denise (Mark) Stuber and their families; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son Devon; and brothers, Robert and David Shackleton.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Calvary Assembly of God Church, Wilson, WI with Pastor Rick Mannon officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in the Town of Stanton, Dunn County, WI. Visitation was from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
