MADONNA “DONNA” REESE
MaDonna “Donna” Reese age 79, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2016 with her husband by her side at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester from a rare lung infection.
Donna was born to August and Rosella (Klinger) Maes on March 30, 1937 in Glenwood City, Wisconsin. Donna graduated from High School in Glenwood City in 1955. Shortly after high school, Donna married Sherman Luepke and together had five children. This marriage ended in divorce. In April of 1969, she married Dwight Reese and together they had one child. They lived in Colorado Springs Colorado, Las Vegas Nevada, Jefferson Iowa, and the last 24 years in Cumberland Wisconsin. During this time Donna worked at McAtee Tire, Franklin Manufacturing, and American Tool. Donna will be remembered for all of the wonderful food she would make. She loved to bring her brownies to all the family functions. She also had the most beautiful flower gardens. Donna loved traveling, spending winters in Florida or Texas and one summer in Alaska.
She is preceded in death by her sons Danny and Doug Luepke, daughter Cindy Hetzel, sister MaryEllen Maes, and her father.
She is survived by husband Dwight Reese of Cumberland; son Duane (fiancé Julie Horak) Reese of Cumberland; daughters Sandy (Rod) Holldorf of River Falls, Debbie (Jim) Gese of Hugo Minnesota and stepdaughter Lisa (Dan) Smith of Glenwood City; mother Rosella Maes of Glenwood City; sister Marlene Kerr of Glenwood City; brother Mark (Audrey) Maes of Glenwood City; 8 grandchildren: Heather (Dave) Reidinger, Kelly Holldorf, Kristy (Erik) Hall, Nicholas Stoner, Rob (Lisa) Stoner, Brett Johnson, Brandon Hetzel, Amanda Peabody; five step-grandchildren: Jenny Pruden, Jackie (Caleb) Jensen, Matthew Smith, Mike (Laura) Gese, Matt Gese; three great-grandchildren: Henry and Harrison Reidinger, Alex Hall; seven step-great-grandchildren: Kayla and Brendan Hanke, Hanna Pruden, Caroline Gese, Roger and Eric Smith, Axel Jensen; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Anderson Funeral Home in Glenwood City on Saturday, October 22, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. with a service at 4 p.m. Celebration of life will take place after service at The Boondocks in Glenwood City.
