GLEN A. DEMAR

Glen A. DeMar, age 77 of Knapp, WI died peacefully Saturday July 23rd, 2016 at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire, WI after complications from surgery.

Glen was born October 3rd, 1938 in Superior, WI to Levi L. DeMar and Laura M. DeMar (Hankins). Majority of his childhood was spent in West Central and North Western Wisconsin. In his senior year of high school he moved to Jackson, TN where he graduated, had his first child, and married his first wife Jacquelin. They moved back to Wisconsin and had four more children.

In 1967 Glen met the love of his life Sharon B. Olson and they wed on November 13th, 1969. They bought a house together in Afton, MN where they had two sons together and numerous foster children. In 1978 they bought a farm in Emerald, WI where he farmed until 1991. They moved to Ridgeland where they bought a hobby farm. Glen retired from farming in 1994 and soon settled down in Knapp, WI.

Glen was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener and big Vikings fan. In his younger years he enjoyed playing softball, coached numerous sports teams, was a member of the Lake St. Croix Jaycees where he helped form new chapters within the Stillwater Prison System holding numerous positions, including President of his chapter and Environmental Chairman and eventually retiring from the Jaycees where he ‘Roostered’ out. Glen had numerous jobs from Supervisor of a newspaper company in Superior; co-owned and operated, with a brother, an Auto Mechanic Repair and Gas Station in White Bear Lake, MN; feed company Salesman, Farmer and numerous other jobs.

Glen is preceded in death by his parents, siblings Mary Belle Jacobs, Lawrence DeMar, Charles DeMar, daughter Traci Winjum (DeMar), grandson Gary Featherly.

Survived by wife Sharon DeMar (Olson), son Glen DeMar Jr., daughters Dawn Adamietz and Tammi DeMar, son David (Cynthia) DeMar, son Andrew (Nicole) DeMar and son Levi DeMar, grandkids Trinity, Samantha, Tony, Ben, Chris, Joe, Kathy, Josephine, Janessa, Kristian and William, great-grandchildren Kylee, Hayden, Owen, Parker, Ashley, Lexi, Stephen, Adrian, Kaya and Camvius, sister Ethel Wold, sister Peggy (Bob) O’Rourke, brother William (Darline) DeMar, sister-in-law Ericka DeMar and son-in-law Jon Winjum.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at the Brown Funeral Home in Solon Springs. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Gordon Cemetery.
