JOSEPH LYNN LARSON

Joseph Lynn Larson, age 66, peacefully joined our Lord Thursday, July 14th, 2016 at ETMC Hospital in Tyler, TX.

Joe was born in Colfax, WI on December 6, 1949 to Wallace and Phyllis Larson.  He is survived by his wife Sydney; two sons: Matthew Larson (Jessica), Thomas Larson (Lisa); two daughters: Christina Larson and Brandy Jo Larson (Cody); their mother, Marsha Robinson; eight wonderful grandchildren; two brothers Richard Larson (Laurel), Tom Larson (Mary); one sister Violet Jarvise; four step-children; 11 step-grandchildren; very special nieces and nephews, and many loving friends. He was proceeded in death by his parents Wallace and Phyllis, his niece Cindy, brother-in-law Jerry, and sister-in-law Mary.

Joe was a 1968 graduate of Colfax High School in Colfax, WI. He had a strong faith and was an active member and librarian of the LDS church in Quitman, TX.  He engaged in politics as an avid constitutionalist and true patriot; he enjoyed sharing his views with others and was published in numerous papers and communications. He loved football, wrestling, track, fishing, hunting, and bowling. He enjoyed coaching his son’s baseball team for several years.  He was an avid race fan spending many years stock car racing with his brothers and family and had the opportunity of hauling one of the 1st US Indy cars around the country for the Menards Racing Team. One of his favorite pastimes was singing karaoke.  He spent over 20 years as a regional truck driver for Menards followed by time as an owner operator accumulating well over 4 million safe miles before buying a small engine repair shop and enjoying his retirement in Tyler, TX.  Joe was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, August 6th from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. for family, friends, and associates at the Grapevine Center at 121 S. Main St. Colfax, WI 54730.
