HARRIET M. BUHR
Harriet M. Buhr, age 91 of Clear Lake, WI, died on Friday, December 20, 2013 at the Amery Regional Medical Center in Amery, WI
Harriet Mae Buhr was born on February 5, 1922 in Emerald, WI, the daughter of Gilmore & Mabel (Markeson) Aronson. She grew up in the Clear Lake-Amery area and graduated from Amery High School in 1940. On January 22, 1944, Harriet was married to James Buhr in Abeline, TX. She lived with her parents in Amery until Jim came back from military service during WWII. Together they moved to Clear Lake and raised six children, Sandy, Maria, Richard, Julie, Scott & Stephen. Harriet enjoyed cooking and baking and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Clear Lake, WI and was active in St. John’s Guild. She was also a member of the Clear Lake VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Harriet will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Gilmore and Mabel Aronson; twin brother, Harris Aronson and infant brother Russell; sisters, Lillian Spaeth, Alpha Melby, Hazel Fleming, Phyllis Miller; great grandchildren, Travis Catts and Gracie Hush.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years James Buhr of Clear Lake, WI; sons and daughters: Sandy (Jim) Cress of Emerald, WI, Maria (Dennis) Bliese of Deer Park, WI, Richard (Doris) Buhr of Clear Lake, WI, Julie (Jerry) Johnson of Amery, WI, Scott (Rita) Buhr of Emerald, WI, Stephen (Kathy) Buhr of Clear Lake, WI; 22 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral Service was held Monday, December 23, 2013 at 11:00 am at St. John’s Catholic Church in Clear Lake, WI. The celebrant was Fr. John Long and music was by Yoshiko Shakal. Casketbearers were Richard Buhr, Jim Cress, Scott Buhr, Jerry Johnson, Stephen Buhr, and Dennis Bliese.
Visitation was Sunday, December 22, 2013 from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Scheuermann Funeral Home and an hour before the service on Monday at the church. Parish Prayer Service was on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Interment at the Clear Lake Cemetery, Clear Lake, WI.
