The President is right!

President Trump is right in his decision to withhold funds from institutions like Harvard. Many people have long criticized institutions of higher learning as being a place where students get indoctrinated instead of educated.

On October 7, 2023, Hamas and other groups seized 257 Israel and foreign hostages. Another 1195 were killed that day as the hatred of Jews continues. Since then, collage campuses in the United States and have seen protests against Israel and Jewish students, those protesters who are filled with hate have disrupted those educational institutions, and Harvard.

Here is a piece that appeared in the Capitol Guardian on May 14 that explains the reason why the President took action against Harvard.

“The power-hungry political class that has wreaked havoc on American independence, security and freedom for decades extends far beyond Congress, to a dense web of heavily influential tax-exempt institutions and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) funded by a steady stream of taxpayers dollars.

“This grim reality is at the heart of President Donald Trump’s so called ‘war’ on the shadowy institutional class, a group filled with unelected ideologues who are shaping funding and policy priorities while betraying the American people at every turn.

“President Trump’s war on the institutional-class came to a head in April when he floated the idea of removing Harvard University’s tax-exempt status, asserting that Harvard is engaged in promoting its own ideological agenda, not acting in the public interest, and does not deserve tax-exempt status any longer. ‘Perhaps Harvard should lose its Tax Exempt Status and be taxed as a Political Entity if it keeps pushing political, ideological and terrorist inspired/supported Sickness?’ Trump said.

“He added, ‘Remember, Tax-Exempt Status is totally contingent on acting in the Public Interest!”

“This is key. On top of threatening to revoke Harvard’s tax-exempt status, Trump froze $2.2 billion dollars in federal grants and $60 million in contracts to the University, demonstrating he will not allow politically radical institutions to promote anti-American propaganda while using our own taxpayer dollars against us.”

Another item that Trump has in front of Congress is one to extend the 2017 Trump tax cuts and expand them to include no taxes on tips, overtime and enhanced deductions for seniors. These tax reliefs for us hard working American citizens, that are under proposal, were instrumental in helping Trump win the swing states of Wisconsin, Nevada, Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.
