Elaine Marlys Grutt, age 88,  of Boyceville, WI passed away unexpectedly Tuesday April 1, 2025 at her home in Boyceville.

She was born on the family farm in Dunn County Boyceville, WI on October 5, 1936 to Arthur and Harriet (Rubusch) Grutt. She grew up surrounded by family as her grandparents and aunt Helen shared the family with her parents.

Elaine attended Peck Grade School and Boyceville High School where she enjoyed being in the choir and band as well as her academics. Upon graduation she worked a year to save money for college. From 1955-1959 she attended Stout State College where she earned her Degree in Home Economics Education.

After teaching Home Economics for six years at Pepin Community Schools she returned to the University of Wisconsin Stout and earned her Masters Degree in Home Economics. Her next twenty seven years were spent teaching Family and Consumer Education at the Rice Lake Middle School as well as some night classes at the vocational school. During these years she also cooperated with the University of Wisconsin Stout in the Teacher and Internship Program.

In 1993, Elaine retired from teaching and returned to the farm and Boyceville community.

Here she was busy helping on the farm, taking care of her mother and involved in her church with choir, teaching Sunday School, Bible School and various other positions.

She was also involved in the community and helped organize the Food Harvest Ministry for the Boyceville area which distributed food to all who needed it for many years. She tried to live her life serving her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She also found a little time to do  some traveling with her sister and brother in law. She was always proud to say she  had visited 30 states including Alaska and 8 Canadian Provinces during their travels.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents brother in law, Thomas Stendall and niece Kristi (Stendall) Leifeld.

She is survived her sister Audrey Stendall, nephew Walter Leifeld and his 3 sons: Walter Thomas Leifeld, Alexander Leifeld and Tyler Leifeld.

Funeral services will be at the Faith Evangelical Free Church at 90 East Street Boyceville, WI at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday April 10, 2025 with Pastor John Gorkum officiating with burial at Tiffany Cemetery Boyceville, WI. Visitation will 1 hour before the service.
