Bernadette J. Anderson

Bernadette J. Anderson, 95, of Cooks Valley, passed away Monday, August 5, 2024, at Our House Senior Living in Chippewa Falls with her family near her.

She was born February 4, 1929, in Chippewa Falls, WI, the daughter of Joseph and Agnes (Pecha) Zwiefelhofer.

Bernadette married LeRoy C. Anderson on August 30, 1947, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.  Together they raised five children.  He passed away on June 4, 2001.

For over 40 years, Bernadette & Roy were the proud owners of Club 40 where they made many friends over the years.

In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and fishing & camping in Gordon.  She loved to cook; there was not anything she couldn’t make or couldn’t do.  She was a creative quilter, making baby quilts for many of her grandchildren.

Bernadette is survived by her four children, Mary (Terry) Beranek of Chippewa Falls, Ken (Sue) Anderson of Colfax, Charlie (Teri) Anderson of Colfax, and Ron (Alicia Calkins) Anderson of Bloomer; daughter-in-law, Ellen Anderson of Colfax; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse, LeRoy; son, Gary, in 2021; granddaughter, Brenda Sand; great-great-granddaughter, Addison Coates; her brother, Marvin Zwiefelhofer; and sister Betty Sarauer.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Thompson Funeral Home in Bloomer.  Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial will follow the service at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Cooks Valley.
