Richard André Rivard was in born Cumberland Wisconsin August 22, 1947. He died May 4, 2024 in Amery, Wisconsin.
André is survived by Brothers: Roland (Rosemary Tenuta) Madison; Louis (Jill) River Falls; Francis, Menomonie; Raymond (Lorraine Hoster) Roberts and Sisters: Michelle Heiting (Bill), Georgianna Rivard Severance (Boris Bravo) and seven nieces and four nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Richard Pierre Rivard and Mary Geraldine Severance Rivard
André served in the U.S. Army in 1970-72 serving a tour of duty in Vietnam. André was a graduate of UW-Milwaukee with a Bachelor in Fine Arts, an accomplished photographer, printmaker and general craftsman. He worked in historical building restoration at UW-Stout, as an art teacher in Eagle Butte, South Dakota, as a finish carpenter and in retail hardware. As well as a longtime freelance reporter and photographer for the Tribune Press Reporter in Glenwood City.
A Memorial for André is being planned for this summer. Memorials are preferred to the Glenwood City Historical Society.
