David A. Behling
David A. Behling, age 69, of Boyceville, WI passed away after a long courageous battle with cancer on Monday, April 15, 2024 at Mayo Clinic – Luther Hospital in Eau Claire, WI.
He was born on November 23, 1954 in Menomonie, WI to Manvel and Avis (Larson) Behling. He grew up in the Boyceville area and graduated from Boyceville High School in 1972.
David grew up on the family farm where he worked very hard, long days without any complaints. When the daily farm chores were done, he worked for some of the farmers in the neighborhood as a hired hand.
In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and cutting wood at the hunting shack. Dave enjoyed feeding the birds, and bird watching. He had a love of sunflowers and liked planting the seeds everywhere; Dave was so proud of how tall they would grow. He liked to tinker with things, to try and get them working again. Dave enjoyed watching old western movies, the movie Titanic was his favorite movie of all time. Even though he lived his whole life in Wisconsin, he was a devoted Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Lakers fan. Dave was a huge Elvis fan and collected numerous memorabilia items. Every now and then he would put on his Elvis White jumpsuit and put on a performance for his family.
He also enjoyed occasional trips to the casino with mom and other family members. His favorite machines being triple cash and sizzling 7. Dave had a heart of gold and would do anything to help someone along the way. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Dave is survived by his mother Avis Behling of Boyceville, sister Debra Bryan (Behling) of Boyceville, brother Paul (Julie) Behling of Boyceville, sister Denise (Steve) Bosse of Champlin, MN, brother Dale (Lori) Behling of Boyceville, Brother Randy (Rose) Owen of Boyceville, and sister Holly Mara (Behling) of Menomonie.
He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Manvel, sister Rhonda Huber (Behling), brother-in-law Jim Huber, Fiancé Bonnie DeMars, special friends Roger Leach, Ray Giere, and special pets Missy and Lucky.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, WI with Pastor Brad Peterson officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. A private burial will be held at a later date.
