What issues are you concerned about?
What election issues are you concerned about and will that issue have a voice in your decision on what candidate you are going to vote for come November 5th.
At this time the Democrats would have abortion as the number one issue in the upcoming election. The Republicans are focused on the southern open border being overrun by immigrants and the economy.
As I see it, Biden wants a countrywide approval for abortion and Trump wants to let each state decide and that is what the Supreme Court had ruled when it struck down Roe v. Wade last year. It was back in 1973 that the Supreme Court ruled on a 7-2 vote that the Constitution protects a woman’s liberty to choose to have an abortion without excessive government restrictions.
Republicans will focus on the Immigrants and the spiraling cost of living and the current wars that are ongoing in the world. Last week Trump, during a campaign speech, noted that if he were president, there would be no wars now.
According to a story in the Capitol Guardian that the immigration chaos is the final nail in the coffin for Democrats. “A striking new NPR/Marist poll reveals voters who supported Joe Biden by wide margins in 2020 are retracting their votes, and the unsustainable crisis on the southern border is at the heart of this collapse in support. The tide has turned on immigration politics in four years, and a majority of Americans now see the border crisis as an issue that needs to be solved swiftly.”
I spent the weekend in Hayward and went to McDonalds, with a hamburger fries and drink costing $10.54 and at the gas pump the figure was $3.54.9 per gallon.
Here is what Hillary Clinton, the former Secretary of State said on the Tonight Show about the two candidates. “It’s kind of like one is old and effective and compassionate, has a heart, and really cares about people, and one is old and has been charged with 91 felonies.” Hillary is able to talk about one’s age as she is just one year younger than Donald Trump.
Trump’s trial in New York started on Monday and it may take a couple of weeks just to seat a jury and what will be the effect on the voting public in this case? Over the past year, each time charges are brought against Trump his poll numbers go up.
Robert Romano countered Hillary’s comments with: “The Democratic Party-controlled justice system is prosecuting Trump, the leader of the opposition party, in an election year to damage him politically and make the incumbent President Joe Biden more electable. The only risk is that, with Trump leading the polls, it appears to be backfiring, making Biden appear to be tyrannical in a bid to solidify one-party rule by imprisoning his opponent.”
So, how do you feel about the current political happenings?
