In Tod’s earlier school days, he played baseball, football and hockey in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota at Simley Junior and Senior High School. At the age of 16, he moved with his family to England due to his father’s work in the computer industry.
While living in England, Tod made many friends and with one of those friends he was in a serious motorcycle accident. He spent many critical months in the hospital but recovered with a paralyzed left arm. In 1977 he graduated from London Central High School.
After moving to Wisconsin, Tod went on to be an outstanding pool player and bowler, often at Dean’s Lanes, his parents bowling alley in Glenwood City. It was his unbelievable ability to shoot pool with one arm that awarded him the nickname “Lefty”

Tod was a loving & helpful companion at home with his mother. He was a kind & faithful man, always thankful of a good meal and never forgetting to ask how someone’s day was. Tod was also proud that he had over 30 years of sobriety.
