Mary E. Kegen

Mary E. (Harvey) Kegen passed away at Mayo Clinic Red Cedar in Menomonie, WI on October 8, 2022, at the age of 80.

Mary was born June 4, 1942 to Robert and Caryol (Follensbee) Harvey. She attended the country school of Hawthorne and Boyceville High School.

She married Lionel Kegen on January 17, 1959 at the United Methodist Church in Boyceville, WI where they were life-long members. They resided on their dairy farm south of Boyceville where they raised their three sons and one daughter.

Mary’s greatest pleasures in life were her family and farming life. She enjoyed cooking, baking and especially loved being a caretaker. All of which she was exceptional at!

Mary also worked as a custodian and in the kitchen at the Boyceville School District after they semi-retired from farming.

Mary knew sorrow, heartaches, and challenges in life, but she always was able to move on with no complaints. She was always more concerned about taking care of others.

Mary is survived by her husband Lionel Kegen; daughter Heidi Johnson; grandchildren September Bessler, Jared (Tyla) Kegen, Timothy (Patrice) Kegen, Michaella Kegen, Katelyn (Max) Galloway, Rob (Allison) Johnson, Andy (Whitley) Johnson, and Mason Johnson; great grandchildren Taylor, Kylie, and Damien. She is further survived by her brother James (Anita) Harvey, sister Ardis (Jerry) Coomer and other family and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Caryol Harvey, sons Timothy James in 1973, Michael Allen in 2014, Jeffery Lionel on October 8, 2022, daughter-in-law Dawn (Michael) Kegen, and nephew Jason Wyss.

There will be a visitation from 1:00-4:00 p.m. Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, WI.
