Will they use the word “change?”
As I was sitting at my desk early Monday morning thinking about the 2024 presidential election and wondering what the candidate’s slogans might be. I though that if President Biden looks for a second term what might his slogan be? “Biden don’t know and neither do you” quickly came to mind.
I am sure that the Republican candidate, whoever it is, will use something with the word “Change” in the slogan. I will suggest the slogan, “A Change will make America Great Again, “not very original. But, lets try this. “We need a Change.”
Change has been used a couple of times during the Presidential election campaign. In 2008, Obama’s Campaign used the slogan, “Change we can believe in,” followed by the chant “Yes we can.”
Bill Clinton’s 1992 campaign slogan was “For people, for a change.”
If you though that Trump’s “Make America Great Again” was new, Ronald Reagan’s 1980 slogan was “We Can Make America Great Again.”
If you are an old duffer, like me, you probably can remember back to 1964 when Barry Goldwater was challenging Lyndon Johnson for the Oval Office, Goldwater’s slogan was “In You Heart, You Know He Is Right.” Johnson’ slogan was “In Your Guts, You Know He is Nuts.” Johnson won by a landslide.
One thing for sure is that one of the campaign topics by the Democratic candidate for president will be Climate Change.”
Gordy Smith stopped by my office last week and suggested that I look up Richard Lindzen at Prager University. Lindzen is an “Atmosphere Physicist” who has published over 200 papers on “Climate Change”, and has taught for 30 years at MIT.
“The climate has changed remarkable little, but the cry of global warming has grown evermore shrill,” Lindzen claims.
“No confident prediction about future global mean temperature or its impact can be made,” Lindzen states.
He talks about CO2 emissions, but notes that without CO2, life on earth would not be possible. He also states that over the last 200 years, the mean temperature has risen only 1.8 digress Fahrenheit.
The cry of politicians and global warming alarmists over climate change, “Provides them with the things they need most, money and power,” Lindzen noted.
I would suggest that if you are concerned about climate change you go to your computer and look up Richard Lindzen at Prager University and view his presentation.
Thanks for reading! ~Carlton
