BOYCEVILLE — The Village Board selected Shawn Mittlestadt to fill the vacant seat on the Village Board.
The open seat came about as the results of the April 6th election where trustee Lukas Montgomery was not only seeking to be returned as Trustee, but also running for Village President. He won the Village president’s position and that left the Trustee seat open.
At the Monday, May 10 meeting, members of the board brought up about a half dozen names of people that had expressed an interest in serving on the board. Montgomery asked for nominations from the members of the board and then indicated that the board would vote to fill the open seat. Nominated were Cody Hegeman and Shawn Mittlestadt.
Village Clerk/Treasurer, Darlene Lee passed out ballots to the board members to vote for one of those two people that were nominated. She read the results of the voting that gave Mittlestadt four votes and Hegeman one. Montgomery asked Lee to notify Mittlestadt and see if he would accept the position.
