Who do we blame?
Can we blame anyone or mother nature for the outbreak of the Coronavirus? But, it seems to me that at least some of the blame must fall on the Chinese government. A Chinese doctor that first raised the alarm about the Coronavirus died shortly after the world found out about it.
It also appears that the government of China sat on the knowledge of the virus for some time before they informed the rest of the world. That alone appears to be an act of aggression against us, and the entire world on the part of the Chinese government.
So what has that done to us? Besides creating a blanket of fear over the entire world, taken many lives and overwhelmed our medical facilities and put 3.8 million workers in the United States out of a job including some 70,198 in Wisconsin as of last Thursday.
I also put the blame on the Democratic Party lead by the Wicked Witch of the West, Nancy Pelosi, who delayed the stimulus package with a list of Socialist items she and her party wanted added to the two trillion dollar government package. Items that had nothing to do with the virus. She got in some half a billion dollars worth of support to some museum that none of us here in Wisconsin will ever enjoy.
Do I need to tell you what this bail out is going to set back our national debt, but then I will enjoy the $1,200 I am looking forward on receiving as part of the program of spending the government’s money. But, wait a minute, it’s my money and the government has spent it even before I have made it.
But, then I should have been accustomed to that nonsense coming out of the mouths of those Democratic candidates. Recently I listen to both Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders on their transportation proposals. They both want to stop coal mining and the power generation that it provides. They want to stop fracking, stop drilling for oil on public land and stop natural gas exploration. They both want to stop the production of vehicles with internal combustion engines in favor of electric powered cars.
Gasoline at present is at the lowest price it has been in forty years and our nation has recently become independent of foreign oil and we have surplus of natural gas. How many of us heat our homes with natural gas? Any regulations that Biden or Sanders puts on natural gas will make the price go up and limit the supply.
They want to stop electric power generation from coal and I wonder how we will charge the batteries in those new electric cars if we don’t have the generation plants, because wind and solar will not be able to do the job. Of course we can always build more nuclear power plants.
But, what they are placing their political future on is Mass Transportation. We will have to give up our vehicles and replace them with trains, light rail or buses. At present there is a group working on establishment of the light rail line from St. Paul to Eau Claire and somewhat further to the east, along the current Union Pacific line with stops in Menomonie, Baldwin, and Hudson.
But, without a vehicle, how would we, living eight miles from the Union Pacific line get to ride the train into Eau Claire. Well, I guess I will just get on my horse and ride over to Elk Mound to catch the train.
But, if one of those two get elected to the white House, I can’t see any of us giving up the love of our internal combustion vehicles within that four year term. We must look to elect people who are for less government and not more rules and regulations.
