Impeachment!
Are the Democrats ever going to stop hating President Trump and attempting to remove him from the White House?
I think the Wicked Witch of the West, Nancy Pelosi, made a big mistake in her announcement to open an impeachment investigation against Trump.
What I have heard is that the full house must vote on the issue before an impeachment investigation can move forward and that has not happened. I think she over stepped her authority. This is only the fourth time in our history that the House of Representatives have opened an impeachment inquiry into a sitting president. No president has ever been removed from office by impeachment; however, Richard Nixon resigned before he almost certainly would have been.
The Constitution is very vague about how this is to happen. The full text of Section 4, Article II states: “The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.”
Here is what I think is happening. Pelosi has given in to the very left wing members of the Democratic Party. The ones who want to change the very things that we enjoy as citizens of these United States. They will take away (or all ready have) our Christian religion and move us back into the nineteenth century or even before that time line. They will take away our freedoms and put the plow back into our hands. There will be no fuel for cars, only hay for horses. They will control our every move and thought. As we move back a couple of centuries, our current entertainment system will be gone.
No more football games to watch on Sunday afternoon. There will be no television or radio. The only information you will get is from our local newspaper. On second thought, maybe I need to switch parties. Oh but all the information will be controlled by the federal government. I guess I will stay the course.
Here is why the Democrats will not get Trump impeached. The process requires a majority vote of the House to impeach followed by a two-thirds majority in the Senate to convict and remove.
Pelosi knows, or she should know, that the Senate, which has a small Republican majority would never vote to impeach, because there is no evidence to support any of the above charges. Let alone get 66 Senators to vote to impeach.
If she had any hope of getting Trump out of office before the 2020 election, she would not have allowed Congress to take a vacation at this time and would be pushing to gather the needed evidence, which there appears to be none.
So, here we are with a federal government that has got nothing done since the Democrats took over control of the house in January.
They keep up with the foreign country interference junk in our election, but want those from a foreign country that get into the United States to vote.
We have many items that need attention including new border and immigration laws. The Affordable Care Act, that needs to be fixed or better yet replaced. The Social Security will run out of funds in the near future.
Lets make a “BIG IF” if Congress does remove Trump, then Mike Pence will become the President and he could be the longest serving president since FDR. Then the next chance Pelosi would have is in 2028 and by then she and I will be in the same place, pushing up daisies. That’s a scary thought.
