ROBERTA (FENNIE) GRAESE
Roberta was born February 28, 1928 in St. Paul, MN to Ernest G. and Lula Florence (Welch) Fennie. Her family moved to Boyceville, WI when she was a baby. She graduated from Boyceville High School in 1945. After graduation she attended secretarial school in St. Paul, MN.
On February 19, 1946 she married Orville William Graese. After Orville returned from the military they raised their family in Glenwood City. Roberta was a partner in their business Glenwood City Machine, Inc. where she worked along side her husband doing the bookkeeping.
Family, Church and community were important in her life. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Glenwood City and Curry Ainsworth American Legion Auxillary. Roberta was active with the Glenwood City Community Club and Womens Club. Roberta loved spending time with her family and was an enthusiastic spectator at her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren’s sporting, musical and church events. Roberta was a 45 year survivor of breast cancer. She supported other women in the community through their journey with breast cancer. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a caring friend.
Roberta is preceded in death by her husband Orville, son David, parents, and two sisters Anita Fennie and Corinne Frieburg and brother-in-law Harold Frieburg.
She is survived by her children Marilyn (Richard) Foss of LaCrosse, WI, Michael (Jody) Graese of Glenwood City, WI, Wendy (John) Carlson of Blackduck, MN, and daughter-in-law Nancy Graese of Glenwood City, WI. She is also survived by Tri (Vicky) Nguyen of Savage, MN. He became a member of the family in 1975 when he moved to Glenwood City. Grandchildren: Mark (Jeanne) Foss, Ann (Kyle) Wonderling, Jenny (Todd) Myer, Thomas (Christina) Graese, Laura (Marty) Osterberg, Benjamin (Jennifer) Graese, Adrienne (Matthew) Shilling, James (April) Graese, Mary Graese, Christina (Herbert) Hensel, Kelly (Andrew) Stultz, Carrie Carlson, Mahlia (Jason) Matsch, Juliet (Eric) Hill, Karina (Vishnu) Nguyen, Jordan (Amanda) Nyugen. Great Grandchildren: Drew and Drake, Wonderling, Derek and Grace Myer, Brett and Emmalin Graese, Graeson and Cora Osterberg, Abigail Graese, Ashley Shilling, Matthew Hensel, Hayden, Natalie and Tegan Stultz, Roman and Brecken Matsch, Raynor Hill, Mia and Rakesh Potsmangra. Also Survived by her Brother Donald (Mary) Fennie and Sister Carolyn (Roger) Tofson, Sister-in-law Phyllis and brother-in-law Aaron Palewicz. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and frriends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. with visitation two hours prior to the service on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Glenwood City with Reverend Jonathan Zielske officiatinng. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood City, WI. The family prefers memorials be given to Glenhaven Inc. or Holy Cross Lutheran Church in memory of Roberta Graese.
