Zeona Taylor of Cocoa, Florida, passed away Saturday. March 17, 2018. She was 91 years old; known to most as Zonie.
She was born on October 18, 1926 in Rice Lake, Wisconsin to Ralph and Zelma Sutliff. Zonie will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends.
Mom to Gail Diffenderfer, step-mom to Barbara and George Ziz, Frank and Charlene Taylor, Gail and AI Simmons. Gramma to Michael Stuart, Jill Stuart, Jon Stuart, Sara and Emmett Saleet, Emily and Will Byrme and Ryan Pigg. Gramma to nine great-children and one great-great-granddaughter.
Zeona was preceded in death by her husband LaVerne Diffenderfer and daughter Vicki Stuart. Also by her husband John “Jack” Taylor. Zeona was also preceded in death by brothers Orval, Marvin, Eldon and sisters Alice, Ardis, Avis, Grace. Zeona is survived by one brother, Ronald “Ron” and wife Darleen, and sister-in-law Delores.
Zonie was very active in the square dance community. Jack and Zonie hosted the “Garage Gang” square dance group for lessons and fun dancing every Monday night in their garage for 27 years. They also served as officers in state and national levels.
A graveside funeral service for Zeona was held at Brevard Memorial Park at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2018 where she will be laid to rest. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Disabled American Veterans or Toys for Tots would be greatly appreciated.
