Affordable Health Care?

We all know now that the Affordable Health Care (called Obama Care) is not what were we told it would be. Insurance premiums have gone up, some people lost coverage and still the cost of our health care continues to skyrocket.

[emember_protected] Back in the fall of 2012, I received a video clip of a speech by a Dr. Barbara Bellar who was a candidate for the Illinois State Senate. “What could go wrong?” Here is part of that clip:

“We are going to be gifted with a health care plan which we are forced to purchase and fined if we don’t, which will reportedly cover at least 10 million more people without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chair says he does not understand it and passed by a Congress that didn’t read it, but exempted themselves from it and signed by a president who smokes, with funding administrated by a treasury chief who didn’t pay his taxes, for which we will be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a Surgeon General who is obese and financed by a country that is broke.

“So what the blank could possibility go wrong?”

Now if the Republicans and Democrats in Congress and the President could get together and repeal that bad law and maybe put together something that will help everyone with lower health care costs, that would be great. But I can’t see that happening.

Moving on to the Harvey Weinstein sex scandal in Hollywood, and is anyone surprised about another moral problem in the entertainment industry? How many can remember Roman Polanski, the French-Polish film director (Rosemary’s Baby) who pleaded guilty to the rape of a minor, but fled the country in 1978, the day before he was scheduled to be sentenced?

I don’t want to make the reference that a couple of rotten apples in the barrel spoil the entire barrel, but when these overpaid actors get in front of a microphone, all they want to do is tell the rest of us how to live our lives.

But, back to the Weinstein sex scandal affair, Hillary Clinton talked about it on the BBC where she said, “This kind of behavior can not be tolerated anywhere, whether it’s in entertainment or politics. After all, we have someone admitted to being a sexual assaulter in the Oval Office.” I thought she was talking about her husband. But she was pointing her finger at President Trump and that’s something that is new to me and listening to national newscasts, it is apparently false.

I can’t help myself to make a comment when Hillary or Bill Clinton open their mouths and stick their feet in. The Clintons, who claimed they were broke when they left the White House 16 years ago, have an estimated new worth of about $35 million now. How did they get all that money? Weinstein was a big donor to her campaign and now many are wondering if those funds are going to be returned to the donor?
