Dale I. Johnson, 90, of Glenwood City, formerly of Colfax, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at Glenhaven Nursing Home in Glenwood City.

Dale was born on April 22, 1927, in Eau Claire, to Herman and Ella (Olson) Johnson. He honorably served his country in the Navy during WWII. On May 28, 1949, Dale married Beverly Dahl at Rock Creek Lutheran Church in Rock Falls, WI. 

At the age of 16, Dale went to Moler Barber School in Minneapolis, MN and was a barber for over 50 years in Colfax. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed bowling and traveling. 

Dale is survived by his wife of 68 years, Beverly; son, Charles Johnson; daughter, Jacalyn (Greg) Evenson; daughter-in-law, Lois (Jim Mrdutt) Johnson; four grandchildren, Jill (Paul) Drewitz, Eric (Jessica) Johnson, Nick (Amber) Johnson and Ethan Evenson; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Thomas Johnson and Harley (Sandi) Johnson; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Adele Johnson; son, Peter Johnson; and brother, David Johnson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 20, 2017, at Colfax Lutheran Church, 601 E. River St., with Pastor Leslie Walck officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Colfax, with Military Honors conducted by the Russell-Toycen American Legion Post 131.
