THOMAS P. “JIM” SCHMIDT

Thomas P. “Jim” Schmidt, age 89, of Connorsville, WI died Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Glenhaven Inc. in Glenwood City, WI with hospice.

Jim was born January 12, 1928 in Boyceville, WI to Ernest and Elizabeth (Kluser) Schmidt. He graduated high school in 1947 and went to work at the Connorsville Creamery until 1950. On July 27, 1950 Jim married Irene Gale in Reeve. He later entered the US Air Force where he served from November 29, 1950 to November 29, 1952. Upon his return he worked at Harnisch Lumber from 1954 to 1991. He  also worked at Vital Plastics from 2000 to 2015. Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting and bingo. He was a  member of the American Legion and United Methodist Church.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents; sisters Angeline Good and Isobel Delano; brothers Ervin, Edward J., John and Jerry.

Jim is survived by his wife Irene Schmidt; children Robin Schmidt, Rosanne (John) Wurtzler and Rick Schmidt; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters June (Ron) Schleiss and Elsie Miller. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at the United Methodist Church in Boyceville, WI with Brian Harnisch officiating. Interment of cremains will be in the Tiffany Cemetery at a later date. Friends were able to call at the Anderson Funeral Home on Monday, August 21, 2017 from 4 to 7 and one hour prior Tuesday at the church.
